I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of political science at Ohio Northern University in the History, Political Science, Geography Department. I specialize in American Politics, Public Policy, Political Psychology, Environmental Politics, and Public Opinion. In my dissertation, I examined the psychological motivations of political behavior using a combination of archived survey data and original experimental survey data.
Prior to enrolling in the graduate program at UCSB, I received my Masters in Public Administration from the Pennsylvania State University. I worked in local and state government and decided to a pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science to understand politics from a scientific perspective and to fulfill my dream of teaching at the college level.
When I am not engaged in academic work I enjoy hiking, fishing, and spending time with my family.
